Medinilla flowers are most native to the Philippines wherein it's sometimes called the Philippine Orchid. It's an epiphytic plant that is somewhat identical to the other species of medinilla (speciosa). The plant has leathery and firm leaves with individual flowers in pink, violet or sometimes red. Generally, they are grown as houseplants specially on areas with cooler temperatures whereas in tropical areas, they're grown mostly as perennials.
