Not to be confused with the lanceolate milkweed, the Butterfly Weed (asclepias tuberosa) is a perennial plant that has clustered yellow/orange flowers with hairy stems. They usually bloom from summer to autumn and highly favored by butterflies, thus the formation of its common name Butterfly Weed. Growing requirements are full sun exposure on a dry and well-drained soil and can be propagated through root cuttings.
