Another beautiful deciduous Japanese shrub is the Beni-Maiko (or Japanese Maple) and they're often seen in shady woodlands. Its tree produce flowers with red or purple sepals and requires minimum pruning. Beni-Maiko is grown under a full sun or partial shade and you must put mulch in order to retain the moistness of the soil.
